GOLF.
MANAWATU CLUB. An open day, with medal and bogey competitions, was held by the Manawatu Ladies’ Golf Club on the Hokowhitu links yesterday, the strong wind making conditions difficult For players. Results were:— Medal, first division, handicap 20 and under (Mr B. Illston’s trophy).— Miss N. Smillie, 97—19—78. Medal, second division, handicaps 21 to 36 (Mrs 11. H. Billcns’s trophy).— Miss S. Thomson, 108—29—79. Extra medal, handicaps 30 to 36. Miss E. Hoggard, 119—34-=435, and Mrs L. Seifert, junr., 115 —30—85, equal. Bogey, first division, handicaps 15 and under (Mrs E. Wimsett’s trophy). —Mrs G Brown (14), 10 down. Bogey, second division, handicaps 16 to 27 (Mrs M. Gabriel’s trophy).— Mrs Morgan (20), 6 down. Stableford bogey, most points (Mrs G. Trevor’s trophy).— Miss Y. llapley, 28. At the conclusion of play the prizes were presented by Mrs J. C. Young, president of the club.
To wash coloured casement curtains, rub them well and leave overnight in cold water with a pinch of salt. Next morning wash thoroughly in a good lather of household soap or flakes, and dry quickly.
