FISHERMAN MISSING.

FEARS FOR SAFETY

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Aug. 7

Fears are entertained for the safety of Peter Alich, a Russian fisherman, aged about 50( who left Motukorea Island, in the Hauraki Gulf, on Thursday of last week. His fishing launch was found anchored in the passage between Hawaii and Motuihi, the anchor having dragged and the boat being endangered between the rocks. The scow Rangi took the launch in tow yesterday. The dinghy was missing and a sot of fishing lines were still out.

lb is thought the dinghy might have been upset in a heavy sea while the fisherman was examining his lines. The sea has been rough for some days. ' Tho police arc investigating the circumstances.
