HOCKEY TOURNEY.
NEW ZEALANDERS AT SYDNEY
SYDNEY, Aug 0. The men’s hockey championship of Australia began at the sportsgronncl, Sydney, to-day, in ideal weather. Ten teams, representing all the States and New Zealand, are taking part. The visiting teams, including the New Zealanders, were given a civic reception this morning. New Zealand’s first game will be against New South Wales to-morrow. To-day’s matches resulted: Tasmania drew with Western Australia. 2—2; Queensland beat Victoria, 4—l; New South Wales beat South Australia, 4—o. *■
