U.S.A. ROBBERY CHARGE.
EXTRADITION EXPECTED
LOS ANGELES, Aug. G.
The Attorney-General, Mr V. S. Webb, has ruled that the Governor under the law must extradite John Montague. His exemplary conduct while m California cannot • influence the Governor’s decision, Mr Webb added.
John Montague, whose cinema friends, including Bing Crosby and Oliver Haidy, have ra.licd to his aid, is awaiting extradition tor a hearing concerning an Essex County, New !t ork, indictment charging him with a 700-dollar robbery. The police Say that Mom ague, whose source of live.iliood has been a Hollywood mystery, is actually Lavcnio Moore Montague. They otaie that the charge resulted from a prank when lie was just a boy, but they intend to question him regarding other robberies.
