AMAZING ROBBERY.

PART OF BRIDGE TAKEN

VENICE, July 5.

The economic plight of the country is indicated by an amazing robbery in which the entire four-ton leaden roof of the historic Bridge of Sighs was removed without attracting attention. The bridge links the Doges’ Palace with an old prison. The public does not have access to either place at night.
