VISIT TO AUSTRALIA.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July o. Hon. It. Semple, who leaves on Thursday for Sydney, said to-night that he wished to. thank his colleagues and Cabinet for giving him leave of absence for a few weeks that his health might be restored. After having a rest he intended to investigate several matters in Australia directly affecting his departments, among them irrigation developments, the question of electricity generation and supply and the transport system. He was leaving, he said, with the knowledge that everything was going well in his departments and everything was now a hundred per cent, efficient on public works. There was yet much to be done in transport organisation but it was now much better than previously.
