MANAWATU CLUB. JULY STROKE HANDICAP. The July stroke handicap was played in conjunction with the third and final qua lily inpj round for tlie (*lii»mpionslii|) events of the Manawatu Golf Club on Saturday,jwhen tlie course was in perfect condition. However, only J. I . Hnrnnhrook (73) and \\. J- Goodwin (78) broke 80. . Hornabrook missed two two-feet putts on the outward journev and he found blinkers with his seconds on two occasions coming in. He secured a birdie 4 at the sixth and rolled down a putt for the three on the home green. In the stroke handicap the A Grade honours were shared bv M . J. Goodwin, W. J. Knights and N. H. Sinclair, whose net scores (71 ’s) were two strokes better than scratch. In the B Grade, A. R. MoKegg led with a net 69 and S. Hooper and L. Cooper were next with 70 and 71 respectively.
