RAILWAY STATISTICS.
INCREASE IN REVENUE. The following figures concerning railway business handled at Feilding for the four weeks ended June 26, 1937, are supplied by Mr D. Finlay, stationmaster. Comparative figures for the corresponding period of last year are shown in parentheses. There was an increase in the number of cattle handled, including fat cattle to freezing works and dairy cattle to the Waikato district. Larger consignments of sheep to the Waikato district accounted for the increase in the number of sheep shown in the outward returns and from one sale alone 40 trucks of ewes were despatched to the Waikato. Outward Traffic. —Passengers, 1531 (1701); cattle and calves. 1365 (908); sheep, 18.103 (13 310); timber, 31,950 ft (—); tonnage. 803 (968); passenger revenue, £520 (£110); parcels revenue, £ll (£38); goods revenue, £2120 (£1882); miscellaneous revenue. £l7 (£19); total revenue, £3016 (£2396). Tmvard traffic. —Cattle and calves, 237 (222), sheep. 7995 (8960); timber, 91.050 ft. (101.850); goods tonnage. 3176 (3002); ' parcels reveijue, £oi (£49); goods revenue. £2851 (£2513); total revenue, £2905 (£2562).
