EX-KING ALFONSO’S SON.

WEDDING AT CUBA. VERY SIMPLE CEREMONY. Received July 5. 10.55 a.m. HAVANA, July 4. Count Covodonga, the eldest son of ex-King Alfonso of Spain, with a brief, simple civil ceremony, last night married Miss Marta Rocafort, aged 23, formerly a New York model. The bride, attended only by her father, descended the marble stairs of their suburban residence wearing a gown of silver lame , and joined Count Covodonga at a marble table, where they smiled at each other while a Notary read the Marriage Act.

There were no responses and no ring. Tho band jilayed the Wedding March after the National Anthem. Fifty guests were present.

A message in May said that cx-King Alfonso had severed relations with his eldest son, Count Covadonga. Ail official statement. said: “Count Covadonga’s public assertions that lie still considers himself the legitimate heir to the Spanish Crown lias caused real anguish to Alfonso. The Royal Family considers the assertions the more grave as all Spanish citizens should concern themselves solely with tho destiny of the Fatherland and the re-establislmient of order and peace. There is additional cause for deep grief to His Majesty in Count Covadonga’s plan to remarry, which could never he approved by the Royal Household, as it is absolutely in conflict with the Catholic faith and the laws of tho Fatherland, llis Majesty is painfully compelled to sever all relations, believing that lie will thus interpret the sentiments of all the Spanish Catholics and Monarchists.”
