NORFOLK ISLAND.

ADMINISTRATOR APPOINTED. SYDNEY, July 2. Major-General Sir Charles Rosenthal has been appointed Administrator of Norfolk Island in succession to Captain C. 11. Penney. Major-General Rosenthal commanded the Third Field Artillery Brigade on Gallipoli, being twice wounded and mentioned in dispatches. He commanded the Fourth Division, A.1.F., in Sinai, France and Belgium, and was General Officer Commanding the Second Australian Division from May 22* 1918, commanding that division in the* capture of Mt. St. Quentin, Beaurevoir Line and Montbrehain, tjie final engagement of the Australian corps in the war. He received the C.M.G. in 1917, D.S.O. in 1918, K.C.B. in 1919, the Belgian Croix de Guerre in 1918, and was made an officer of the Legion of Honour in 1919.
