FINDING OF AEROPLANE WHEEL SYDNEY, July 2. The Civil Aviation Department has cabled the Burmese authorities seeking confirmation of the latest report regarding the finding of Sir Charles Kinsford Smith’s ’plane wheel. Tt was reported yesterday that a cable received by the Australian Civil Aviation Department from Kanbauk (Burma), signed by Jack Stodder, stated: “Have found a wheel of Smith’s Lockheed. Definitely Smithy’s. The message does not say whether the wheel is tlie same as the one found in May in the sea near Moulmein. It will he remembered that Sir Charles and Air ,1. Pethybridge were lost in November 1935 after taking off from Allahabad during a flight from England to Australia.
