EVENT AT NEAV YORK
NEW YORK, July 1. Twenty-three competitors qualified for the Vanderbilt motor trophy races. The fastest was Rudolf Caracciola, driving a Mercedes, with a speed of 85.85 miles per hour. Hosemeyer, although lie achieved 161.411 m.p.h. on the straightaway, averaged only 84.37.
