MILSON HANDICAP. WON BY FLYING CHIEF. Tile weather remained beautifully fine for the continuation of the Manawatu Racing Club’s winter meeting this afternoon, and, with a splendid programme of events, patrons had enjoyable racing to witness. Flying Chief, made a firm favourite for the Mi Ison Handicap, justified the public’s confidence, winning the six furlong event in hollow style by five lengths. In the rush from the barrier positions at the start. Te Huia and Old Surrey were in the front from Flying Chief, Silent Acre and Dawning Light. Half a mile from home Te Huia and Old Surrey were together in charge, with Flying Chief moving up on the outside, Te Huia and Old Surrey led into the straight from Flying Chief, Royal Feast and Quadroon. Once m line. Flying Chief soon settled the opposition. but Te Huia hunc on for second place from Sporting Gift.
