WRESTLING.

FIRST-CLASS BOUT ARRANGED. Enthusiasm for wrestling In Palmerston North this season, as in other parts o. the Dominion, is running high, and a bout which is hound to stimulate it still further is that which is to take place at the Opera llouso next Wednesday night between Sammy Stem, who has held Ihe world’s Jewish title during the past seven years and Matron Ivirilinko. the colourful Kuban Cossack. Both of tlieso men are fast and open workers who seo to if that any bout in which they are engaged is kept moving at a fast clip from s art to finish. Kirilinko, as he showed when he bad bis first bout in Palmerston North, is an unusual wrestler in many respects, and his tendency to produce the spectacular, makes him a man who lias to be watched the whole time, both by his opponent and by the audience. Kirilinko lias a distinguished record behind lum. He has held the Graeco-Roman championship ot Europe, as well as the titles of several European countries, and has also keen tho catch-as-catch-ean champion of South America. In his first two years in the United States ho had 63 matches of which he lost only two—against those great wrestlers “Strangler” Lewis _am Jim Lor.dos. Stein lias also distinguished himself in the best company, nno of the distinctions being a win over “Strangler Lewis. Since bis importation to New Zealand the Jewish wrestler has bad wins over every wrestler in sight, but Blomfiold, Spellman and Kirilinko have gained decisions against him. As this is Stein s last appearance in the Dominion, there must be many who have hoard of his great performance here '#t month who will want to seo him, and everybody who lias seen him will want to see how ho fares with a man as fast as himself. The plans are now open at Collinson and Cunninghame’s.
