OXFORD GROUP
NOTE OF CHALLENGE. A challenging note was struck at the house party of the Oxford Group in Palmerston North this week, the closing theme being a God-control plan for the individual, the Dominion, and the world. The response by young people was especially noticeable. The key-note was the new enlistment in a world-wide army of men ana women dedicated to the building of a new world under, the leadership of the Holy Spirit. From all sides one heard positive vows. At one meeting a letter received by air mail told of 20,000 and 30,000 people attending meetings at Utrecht, of the raising in England of a huge army of disciplined youth. Physical and spiritual athletes are planning a world-wide co-ordination of Christian forces in a constructive attack on the moral dry rot from which all countries are suffering.
The positive note was struck all through the House Party. “God has a plan and it is the complete answer to all problems. Any individual can try it; any nation can try it. God made the world—man spoiled it. The only way for it to he cleaned up is b.v letting God do it His way. This is being brought about as individual men and women give their lives to Him without any reservations or compromi-«.”
The results already being achieved are: New employment for the unem-
ployed of all classes; complete harmony between employer and employee; co-operation of businesses taking the place of selfish competition ; now spirit of understanding between landlord and tenants; a breaking down of individual barriers in all walks of life.
