DEPARTING GIFTS.
MRS J. W. DAVIDSON
A most pleasant function was held yesterday alternoon in the Rosco tearooms, when some 36 members of the Arts and Crafts and Play-Reading Circles of the Townswomen’s Guild met to farewell Mrs J. W. Davidson, who, with her husband, is leaving shortly on transfer to Wellington. On taking her seat, Mrs Davidson was presented with a posy of daphne and violets. After afternoon tea had been served. Mrs Harris and Mrs Drake, on behalf of the Arts and Crafts Circle,, voiced their regret at Mrs Davidson’s departure. Mrs J. Davidson and Mrs Spraggon spoke on similar lines in regard to the Play-Reading Circle. On behalf of those present, Mrs Spraggon asked Mrs Davidson to accent an electric hot water jug as a small token of the love and esteem in which she is held by her friends in these circles. Mrs Davidson thanked her friends most sincerely for their gift and good wishes, after which Mrs McGilvray delighted those present by presenting Mrs Davidson with a beautiful white woolly dog, a product of the Arts and Crafts Circle, made by herself. The afternoon concluded with musical honours for Mrs Davidson.
