FOXTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, July 1. Last Monday afternoon a meeting of the iVlanawat.il Area Council of the New Zealand Alliance was held in the Fox ton Methodist Church. Delegates from many parts of the district were present. Rev. Mr Dennis, of Levin, occupied the chair, and the meeting discussed various remits concerning the future policy of the alliance. The annual meeting cf the Foxion branch of the Labour Party was he'd recently. Ihe president, (Mr F. Shaw) said that the returns for the year showed a rapid increase in membership. After the report and balance-sheet had been read, the election of officers for 1937-38 was bold and resulted:- —-President. Mr Shaw; vice-presi-dent, Mr S. Smith: secretary, Mr \V, T. Young; treasurer, Air 11. Adin; executive committee. Mrs H. Ilayncs, Airs O. Dawson, Airs \V. Young, Air J. McLaughlan, Air D. Haydock. Reports from the national office and matters in relation to the AJanawatu L.R.C., organisation, "and finance were discussed. News from tiro various branches throughout the Manawatu electorate disclosed an improved posilion. Air E. Bowater, of Sanson, has been appointed organiser for the Alanawatu L.R.C.
