Or K. AV. Dairymple presided over the monthly meeting of the Rangitikei County Council to-day. The ValuerGeneral wrote advising that the value of the Flock House property has been included for the purpose of the council’s hospital levy for the current year Alessrs John Trevena, Ohingniti, and S C Andrews, Alarton. were granted renewal of slaughterhouse licenses. The Waitotara County Council foiwaided a report of the conference held to consider the question of the amalgamation of counties. Cr Stuart, who represented the county, said he had nothing special to report. There was practically only one opinion, and that was that the various representatives could not see any benefits arising out of amalgamation. Messrs Maclean' and Kmcaid wrote complaining on behalf of Air JL S Ross, of Taoroa, that the council had diverted storm water on to his property.—The matter was held over until the return of Cr Belle.
