BANKRUPT WRESTLER.
GEORGE WALKER’S PETITION. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 1. A meeting of creditors of George Walker, professional wrestler, uas held to-day. Unsecured creditors were shown at £855 and assets nil. The principal unsecured creditors were the Commissioner of Taxes, £319; G. \Y. Slade, Wellington, £350; and Mrs E Lyon, Pahiatua, £3l. In his statement, bankrupt said that lit came to New Zealand in 1929. For the first few years he was busily engaged and was making money. .His net earnings, however, were not as heavy ns might he thought, as a leading wrestler was compelled to incur heavy living and travelling expenses. The wrestling school which ho financed in Auckland cost him £7OO. He referred to his'disagreement with the Wrestling Union, and said
that from 1933 until the present season he had done very little wrestling. The money owing to Slade was advanced during the time he was inactive. He attributed his bankruptcy almost entirely to the disagreement between himself and the Wrestling Union. .' .. The meeting was adjourned sine cue.
