IMPROVED VALUES. ' COWS IN DEMAND. Improved prices were paid for dairy cattle at the Eeilding sale to-day, when larger offerings than at recent sales were yarded. There was a particularly keen demand for winter calver cows by small dairy farmers desirous of securing cows close to profit. The sum of £8 5s was paid for a third ealver at drop. There was a heavy yarding of boner cows and bidding was crisp, exporters competing freely ._ Prices ranged from 27s Gd to £3 l,s Gd. A heavy yarding of fat sheep included a largo proportion of lambs. Sheep were very firm at late ) rates exporters competing freely with local butchers. There was a heavy yardin.' of store lambs, and considering qiuility prices for breeding ewes were about late rates.
