SMALL RAINFALL

WEATHER IN JUNE. LOWER TEMPERATURES. In his notes on the weather records for June, Mr E. J. Werry, of the Palmerston North Boys’ iligh School, comments on the email rainiall for the month. The total of 1./6 inches is just over one inch less than that lor June last year, and nearly two inches less than the average lor June lor the last 25 years. Temperatures were from two to four degrees lower than the corresponding temperatures lor June last year, which themselves were approximately one degree lower than normal. There wore 12 frosts during the month, varying from one to 7i degrees, the heaviest being experienced on Wednesday morning of this week. This was the heaviest frost so far tins year and heavier than any du/ing the corresponding period last year. Details of the records for the month are as ' follow : BAROMETRIC HEIGHT. Average reading for month, 29.98 inches. Highest reading, 30.32 inches. Lowest reading, 29.40 inches. RAINFALL.

Rain fell on 13 days. In June last year 2.78 inches fell on 11 days. The total fall to date tins year is 22.98 inches. TEMPERATURES. (Last year's figures in parentheses.) Means.
