(From Our Own Correspondent.) STANWAY, July 1.

There was another good attendance _at tiie fortnightly euchre tournament, marking tho completion of the first series for points prizes. Miss Ngairo Old won the ladies’ prize, while Mr I). Humphries won th men's. Miss .lean Hester was awarded the Indies’ consolation, while Mr .). Parsons anil Mr IT Humphries tied for the men’s, For the Hah Committee, Mr It. C. Hamilton presented the points prizes. Mrs it. Cnckhnrn being the recipient of the ladies’, while Mr T. V. Marshall won the teen's. Tilt School Committee met on Tuesday evening, Mr 15. Christian presiding over Messrs Mncftu'lane, Wathcrston, Wilson, Cowdrey (secretary) and Mr Loot (headmaster). The secretary was instructed to order coal and coke. It was decided to send a letter of appreciation to the Itangitilioi Jtugby Union for the donation of a football. Mr Leet informed the committee that he intended having a fancy dross bail towards the, end of the term. Mrs F. Cowdrey lias returned home from a holiday spent in Taiiinnritnui. During the week the school was visited by the inspector, also by Mr It. A. Robbie (agricultural instructor to the Wanganui Education Board). Miss Mu ire Rosser has returned to Wellington after a fortnight's holiday spent with her parents, Mr and Mrs E. J. Rosser.
