CONCILIATION COUNCIL.
PLASTERERS’ UNION CASE. Por Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 1. An almost complete settlement resulted from tho discussion before the Conciliation Commissioner (Mr M. J. Reardon) of the dispute between the Carrara Ceiling Co., H. P. Coleman and the Atlas Fibrous Plaster Co. and the Wellington Plasterers’ Industrial Union of Workers to-day. Only one clause governing tho under-rate workers remains to be settled by the Court. A 40-hour week was agreed on, work to begin -at 7.30 a.m., provided the men are agreeable. The following wages were agreed to : —Journeymen fibrous plasterers, 2s 8d an hour; fibrous plaster casters and wallboard makers, 2s sd; casters or cornice, rib and other light castings, 2s 3d; casters employed in manufacturing cement sheets, 2s 5-Jd; hoys under 17, 20s for tho first six months and 25s for the second six months; from 17 to 38 years of age, 30s for the first six months and 35s for the second six months; from 18. to 19 years, £2; from ];j to 20, £2 10s; from 20 to 21, £3; and adult rates thereafter.
