A quiet tendency lias been evident oil the butter market during the past week, and a quiet tone also has prevailed on the cheese market. Current' quotations are as follow, those previously cabled being included in parentheses :

Butter.—Danish, 114 s (114 s). Choicest salted: New Zealand, 109 s (109 sto 110 s); Australian, 107 s (108 s). Unsalted: New Zealand, 110 s (Ills to 112 s); Australian, 109 s (110 s). Cheese.—New Zealand : White, 72s to 72s 6d (745); coloured, 71s 6d to 72s (735). Australian: White, 72s to 72s 6d (none offering); coloured, 71s Od to 72s (none offering).
