PERSONAL.
A resolution will be scubmitted to the annual conference of the Farmers’ Union this month, on behalf of the Dominion executive and several provinces, recommending that Mr iff. J. Poison. M.P., be appointed a Dominion life member of the union in recognition of his long, faithful, and ‘able services on its belialf.
Commenting that it was to be regretted that older members of the club were passing away, the chairman (Mr C. L. Mowlem), at the annual meeting of the Palmerston North Bowling Club last evening, made reference to the recent demise of Messrs N. H. Nash and R. H. Sollitt. He stated that the late Mr Nash had had an association with the club extending over nearly forty years. He had been one of its stalwarts, a very keen player, and of great assistance to new members. The late Mr Sollitt had rejoined the club only a year ago on returning to take lip bis residence in the city. Resolutions of condolence were passed with the bereaved relatives, and also with Mr T. J. Edwards (a member) and Mrs Edwards, in the sad loss they had suffered through the death of their only son in a recent accident. A letter was received from the V oodvillc Bowlin<T Club expressing its deep regret at the death of Mr Nash, and expressing its appreciation of his valued services.
