Received J Til— 1. 11.30 a.m. LONDON, June 30
Sir Austin Harris, presiding a meeting of the National Bank of New Zealand, said: “While prices are good and trade active the New Zealand Government’s policy may not arouse concern, !>iit a period of reaction w ill come in due course when trade will find it difficult, perhaps impossible, to bear the additional costs that the legislation has imposed. Minimum wages and shorter hours may become an economic impossibility; the policy of guaranteed prices will then be put to the test a.nd it may prove a sevore.slram. However, all felt sympathetic goodwill for the steps the Government was taking to improve the lot of Unpeople.
