AIATCH AT AUCKLAND. Though without tho services of Francis and Sutton (two of their best players), Massey College beat a strong Auckland University College team at Auckland yesterday by 9 points to 8. Alassey College secured two tries and a penalty goal, and their opponents a converted try and a penalty goal.

RANGITIIvEI BEAT TE IvAWAU. The Rangitikei Rugby representatives boat To Kawau in a junior match yesterday at Bulls by 14 points to 3. Both teams were not at full strength. Thoso who took the field were: Rangitikei. —Green, Lane, Moss, Casey, Illston, Williams, Gatrell, Death, Davidson, Duncan, Bromley, Simpson, Taylor, Bromley. Ellery, Lee. Te Kawau.—Lewis, Tapcnc, Gibbons, Cribb, Hazelwood, Williams, Waller, Hardesty, Gardner, Grammer, Quinlan, Waka, Cole, Dench, Hancock. Five minutes after play commenced Te Kawau were awarded a free kick and from half-way Gardener secured a goal. Shortly afterwards Gatrell, for Rangitikei, secured from a scrum and sent tho backs away, Moss crossing to make the score 3—-3. Dull play followed until Lewis short kicked and Henderson, a Rangitikei forward, following up fast, collected the ball and with a smart 25 yard sprint was over the line. Lane converted, making the score 8-3. . , i The resumption of play was marked !>v a. continued exchange of kicks. Elston was conspicuous in several bright hack movements. Securing from a scrum, Gatrell sent the ball out to Liston, who transferred to Aloes, who scored, Lane missing the kick. To Kawau pressed Rangitikei to their line but could not penetrate. Illston snapping up the ball passed to Casey who scored. Lane’s kick again failed to cross tho bar. With the score 14 3 m Rangitikei’s favour neither side was able to score before time. Air E.
