(From Our Own Correspondent.) FKKTAIIUNA, June 30. .Mi- and Mrs G. Hanson, Kaiparoro, returned yesterday after a tour of the northern part of tlic Island. Mr and Mrs K. Carman, Mbs K. Carman, and Mr R. MacDonald, of .Broadwood, have been visiting relatives locally. There was a large attendance at the annual Anglican Church ball in the Alfrcdton Hall. Mr Tredray was the M.C., while a professional orchestra from Greytown provided music. The committee comprised Mesdamos Cecil Kebbell, H. N. Kcbboll, R. Kcbbeil, J. Didsburv, Purvis Hay, Guy Lewis, A. Napier, J. Tredray, G. Yarrcll, and G. Watson. Airs H. Hielop and her daughter Joyce are at Lower Mutt. Messrs B. Brooinliall and A. Brannigan have returned to Alfredton after a trip to the South Island. Airs 10. 11. W. Kenny has returned from Auckland, accompanied by her mother, Mrs W. Brabant, Mr and Mrs S. R. Blewitl, Nircaha. are on a visit to New Plymouth. Mr K. Hansen and Mr Ben Hansen are spending a fortnight’s holiday in Blenheim. Mrs Clark is a guest of Airs J. P. Petersen, Atca. Airs R. J. Daniel. Aliss Hansen, and Air H. Nordcll arc on a motor trip to Auckland. Air and Airs J. Dumbloton are on holiday. . Miss A. Anderson presided over a large attendance at the monthly meeting- of the local branch of the AV.D.I'.U. Airs G. Hansen, one of the delegates to the interprovincial conference, gave 'an interesting report. At the annual meeting of the \\ airarapa executive at Masterlon Aliss Anderson was elected one of the vice-presidents of that bodv. Delegates to the Dominion conference from the AVairarapa executive were Airs Glarko, -Mrs Noilson (Palnahia) and Airs Brittain (Kketaluina). Delegates from the local branch fo the Dominion conference next month are Aliss Anderson and All’s AVilson. Air Brockeit (agricultural instructor). Mrs Johnston and Misses AVilson (Kketaluina School). Ross (Kongokokako) and Edwards (Newman) attended a meeting of the arts and crafts committee to discuss the schedule and make arrangements for the exhibition. The hostesses wore Alcsdames AVilson and Sehorrnann. New members are Alcsdames Young. Curry, Fox, It. Percy, W. Anderson, and C'owlam.
