OCEAN HOP POSTPONED.

MRS PUTNAM IN NEW GUINEA. Received July 1, 8.5 a.m. LAE, June 30. Mrs Putnam postponed her departure till Thursday, lacking weather reports from Howland Island. LOG OF THE FLIGHT. Mrs Putnam, who is accompanied by Mr F. J. Noonan as navigator, started on the morning of June 1 from Miami, Florida, on her flight round the world in an easterly direction, in her famous aeroplane, “Flying Laboratory.” She landed early that afternoon at San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico. She reached Carepito, Venezuela, next day, Paramaribo, Dutch Guiana, on June 3, Fortaleza, Brazil, on June 4, and Natal, Brazil, on June 6. She then flew across the Atlantic and landed at St. Louis du Senegal, West Africa, near Dakar, whence she continued lier flight on June 10, reaching Gao, French Equatorial Africa, the same day. The airwoman landed at Fort Laing on June 11, El Faske,' in the AngloEgyptian Sudan, on June 12. There she was delayed by the necessity to make an adjustment to the shock absorbers on her machine. She reached Khartoum on June 13 and continued to Massawa, and Assab (Italian Somaliland) on June 14. The next stage of the flight was to Karachi (India) which was readied on June 15. A landing was made at Calcutta on June 17 and Ak.vab was reached next day. Mrs Putnam left there on June 18, but was forced to return owing to bad weather. Rangoon. Burma, was reached on June 19, Singapore on June 20. Bandong Java, was the next stopping place’ and Sourabaya was reached from there on June 24. Mrs Putnam then had to return to Bandong for repairs to instruments in her machine. She left again last Sunday and reached Koepang, whence she flew across the Timor Sea to Darwin. From there she flew to Lae (New Guinea). From there Mrs Putnam proposes to fly across the Pacific to Oakland, California, via Howland Island and Honolulu.
