THE BOURSE TO CLOSE.
CHECK TO SPECULATION. DECISION IN FRANCE. LONDON, June 29. It is officially announced in Pans that the Bourse will be closed from to-day until a date to be fixed by the Minister of Finance (M. Georges Bonnet) . It is understood that the object is to check speculation while the Government’s financial legislation is being debated. ■ According to the Paris correspondent of the Daily Mail M. Bonnet intends to demand unlimited powers. WASHINGTON ATTITUDE. NEW YORK, June 28. The Secretary of the Treasury (MiHenry Morgenthau) in a statement to the New York Times, said that no change in the tripartite monetary agreement would be caused by the French situation. This is interpreted to mean that Britain and the United States are cooperating to offset any international repercussions arising from the French monetary crisis.
