AT AV HANGAR El SHOW. HON. P. FRASER AS JUDGE. Per Press Association. WHANGAUEI, June 30. Over a thousand Whangarei residents had .a laugh at the expense of prominent citizens who took part in a cow milking contest, one of the highlights of Show Week here. Despite rain, a big crowd turned out to watch the fun. , , Hon. P. Fraser, who earlier bad opened the exhibition, acted as judge and entered freely into the carnival spirit. Mr W. Jones, the Mayor, was the first to complete his task and win in the rush to the judge, being closely followed bv Mr H. W. Janies, president of the A. and P. Society. Ihe prize based on the quality of the product, was awarded Mr James - after Mr Fraser had called in the referees to make a test. Their finding was 6ucli that Mr Fraser announced it was understood the cow “would be sold to a brewery firm.”
