Mrs Birkinshaw, Mrs Nelson Scott and Miss Quirke. The ladies are indebted to Mrs Brcrcton, of the Carnarvon School, and Miss Qiurke, of the local school, who conducted the folk dancing and organised tho children’s games. A competition arranged for tho children by Mr Nelson Scott was won by Mavis Erskine. ’The euchre party in the evening was well attended, the prize winners being: Ladies, Mrs M. J. Birkinshaw 1, Miss M. Erskine 2; men. Mr E. E. Spry 1, Mr B. Kyle 2. The ladies who attended to tho supper were Mrs ICirkham, Mrs Nelson Scott and Mrs Birkinshaw. The success of the day’s proceedings was in no small degree due to the energetic secretary, Mm A. Carkcek. A painful • accident happened on Saturday to Mrs R. Webby. It appears that an electric pump was being attended to when a part flew off and, striking Mrs Webby on the head, rendered her unconscious. We regret to record tho passing, of Mr John Anderson, a resident of Tangimoana. The late Mr Anderson had been in poor health for some considerable time and was a patient of tho Palmerston North Hos-. pital. He had been a resident for about three years and was much respected. Sympathy is extended to his widow and daughter.
