A RECIPE.

Dissolve llh. sugar in II gills water in a fairly large saucepan. Add 1 dessertspoon guocose and 2oz. fresh butter and boil at 255 degrees. When all the bubbles have died down, pour the mixture out on an oiled slab and scatter the previously warmed chopped nuts (about 2oz. walnuts). When cool enough to handle, roll in long strips about 2 inch thick. With oiled scissors cut each strip quickly into cushions and place on greaseproof paper until quite cold. Wrap the cushions in squares of waxed paper.
