CORONATION FILM.

PRESENTATION IN COLOUR. A special 20Ui Century-Fox film of the Coronation, is to be screened at the State Theatre, commencing on Friday. It is 1000 ft in length, in glorious rechnic-olour, wlrcli focuses iiLceti hundred years of British tradition and symbolism into the short space of lime occupied by the Coronation of King George Vl. and Queen Elizabeth. These historic pictures show, as no mere black and wh'le print could, all the colourful pageantry, the glorious pomp, and dignity .of the crowning of the King of England. It wouid be impossible to conceive any greater impression of the tranquil peace and dominant power of the British Empire than is conveyed in this technicolour reel. For tho first time tho historic castles of Windsor, Sandringham and Buckingham are revealed in the full magnificence ol natural colour. By Royal permission the colour cameras photographed many of the incidents of tlie Coronation rehearsals and the beauty of the robes worn by the highest nobles of flic Empire, including those specially posed by the Earl Marshal, the Duke of Norfolk, and the gold-chased magnificence of the Archbishop of"'Canterbury’s regalia. The advent of the coach of State pales everything else; the sight of Their Majesties in their robes of State seated inside, is a picture that takes the breath away. The variegated colours of the overseas contingents, bearded Ind’ans, and striding Lite Guards, their white plumed helmets and the traditional uniforms of England’s oldest regiments make this procession the greatest event in the history of England.
