DEMAND TO VIENNA.
DETENTION OF GERMAN. LONDON, June 28. The Vienna correspondent of the Daily Telegraph reports that, according to Prague newspapers, Germany has sent a Note to the Czechoslovakian Government demanding that the case of the German, Bruno Weigel, who has been detained and allegedly tortured in a Prague prison, be reinvestigated, the persons responsible punished, Weigel compensated, and guarantee's given that similar cases will not recur. . ~ If the answer is unsatisfactory, the Gor man Government has “further measures” in reserve.
All oflicial report isued in Prague on June 18 categorically denied the German allegations. It explained that Weigel had been detained on charges of espionage and of illegally organising Nazi groups in Czechoslovakia. As'a political prisoner ho had been given a better cell than those used for ordinary prisoners.
