MIGRANTS TO DOMINION.
TIIE LEGAL POSITION. Per Press Association. NAPIER, June 28
“There is nothing to prevent any person of British birth and parentage being of European race and colour from joining into New Zealand for permanent residence subject to the usual coalitions as to health and character,’' stated Mr AV. E. Barnard, ALP., pre sident of the New Zealand Five Alillion Club. “There appears to be so much misunderstanding on the subject that it appears necessary to state what tin law is. Special restrictions were ini nosed by the Immigration Restriction Amendment Act, 1931, but this Act has now expired “While the New Zealand authorities naturally do-mot desire to see British people coming here without adequate resources, no bona fide British migrant from the Old Country will he prevented from landing on our shores. Largescale immigration is, of course, a matter upon which the Governments must be consulted, hut foi individual immigrants who are of British stock as defined above the way into New Zealand is open.” Mr Barnard added that intending immigrants from Great Britain would be well advised to consult reliable sources before completing their plans to migrate to the- Dominion. The Five Alillion Club would be pleased to furnish on request the necessary infor mation or advice.
