CONTRIBUTION TO PUBLICITY LITERATURE. New Zealand, “the Britain of the South Seas,” is given considerable prominence in part 29 of “Countries of the World,” a Harmsworth production, a copy of which is to hand from the High Commissioner for the Dominion. Occupying upwards of thirty pages, the''article deals exhaustively with the development and growth of New Zealand and its principal cities, in addition to presenting a comprehensive review of farming and industrial pursuits in this country The scenic side is not neglected, and considerable space is devoted to the lakes and sounds of the South Island and the thermal wonders of Rotorua and Wairakei. Manufacturing and transport facilities are treated in detail, while the author, Mr Boyd Cable, also makes reference to hydro-electric development. Profusely illustrated, the article graphically depicts the great strides the Dominion has made of recent years and is an , Excellent contribution to the publicity literature of this country. Not the least interesting feature of the article is a coloured photogravure section, wherein some fine views of the country are presented. The attractions that New Zealand possesses for sportsmen are treated concisely yet fully, the author showing a fine knowledge of game and fishing conditions. The Maori race is also dealt with, a tribute being paid to its physique and mentality. The concluding paragraphs of the article touch on the outlying islands.
