APPLICATIONS FOR LOAN.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 28. Sir Francis Bell stated to-day, in reference to the Christchurch City Council’s protest against the refusal of a State advance for a. workers’ dwelling loan of £20,000, that applications to the Advances Office for loans to discharge mortgages affected by the Mortgages Extension Act and for building houses had been abnormally large, and no moneys were available for loans to local authorities.
