NEW FEATS BY NURMI, NEW YORK, April 29. Running at Los Angeles, Nurmi broke the/30-year-old record for the mile and a-half distance, which he ran in 6.42 2-5, or four seconds better than the record of Tommy Conneff. Nurmi also bettered tho mile and a-quarter and- 2000 yards world marks in the same race. Willie Plant, the United States walking chamipon, made a new world’s record for 2500 metres, doing the distance in 10.39. The former record was 10.47, made by Frigerio, in Italy.—A. and N.Z. cable.
