motor car?.leaves the road ACCIDENT AT"TUEAK]:NA. WANGANUI, May 1. All the potentialities of a fatal motor accident were featured in a mishap that occurred at Turakina yesterday morning. A motor party consisting of the Misses Morrison *(2), Mrs McDonald (all of Masterton), and Sister Howatson (of Wanganui) who have been on a tom- of the West Coast, left Wanganui early, with the Intention of reaching Masterton last evening. After negotiating Lethbridge s Hill, by some mean*, as yet inexplicable, tho steering gear became unmanageable on the down slope of the dHVeu by Mr Permain, of Masterton, and owned by one of the passengers—Miss Morrison—immediately got out of control, with tike result that it went over a bank, finally coming to a standstill through the agency of tree. The occupants wens thrown heavily and sustained numerous nasty injuries.
