WALSH ISLAND.
MORE MEN AT WORK. SYDNEY, April 25. The decision of the second trades unions to declare Walsh Island “black” has had little effect upon the progress of the works at the dockyards. Yesterday the Minister of Works, Mr R. T. Ball, received an official notification that there were more men at work than on the previous day. Mr Ball stated that no increase in wagos would be given to the strikers. The men had a legal remedy and would have to abide by the law. A mass meeting of members of the unions at the dockyard will be held on Monday, when the position of the strikers will be fully explained.—Press Association.
