WAIRARAPA MEETING. P»r Preii Aiiooi»tioa _ CARTERTON, April 27. The Wairarapa Rifle Association’s postponcd meeting was opened at Papawai today. The weather was dull but lino and the light good. As the morning progressed drizzling rain fell but did not affect the shooting to any extent. The light, failed quickly in the afternoon and in the Canterbury match the conditions for the last men were very bad. The programme was prepared on the basis of 150 entrants with prize money of £620. The shooters totalled 105 and the prize money was reduced to £495. Results: Service Match, 300 yards. —F. Bolton (Opaki) 46, £2; Goodall (suburbs), D. McKenzie (Opaki). R 11. Nicholl (Petone) all 44, £1: J. C. Carter (Linton) 43, C. Whiteman (Upper Hutt) 42, £1; six others, 10s; 11. Cronne (Ashburton) 41, counted out. P.idvvill Match, 500 yards.-W.
