THE PHONOFILM.
SCIENTIFIC ACHIEVEMENT. Received April 23, 8.50 a.in. NEW YORK, April 22. An address by President Coolidge in which ho sounded a message of peace and prosperity was broadcasted from a specially prepared phonoiilm made a week ago at Washington, marking what is said to be the first attempt ever made to broadcast the voice from a picture screen. The film, which recorded both the voice and the movements of the President, was shown before a gathering of editors and publishers. It is described as a notable scientific achievement. —A, and N.Z cable.
