CONFESSING OF CRIME.
THE SIRDAR’S MURDERERS. CAIRO, April 21. Confessions by several of those arrested in connection with tho murder of the Sirdar, lute last year, have been published. Theso show that after the breaking down of negotiations between Air AlacDonald and Zughlul, members of a vengeance society, known as "The Redeemers,” met at the house of Chaffk Alansour, who was a deputy, and decided upon a political murder, tho Sirdur being chosen as tho victim. Ono' Rashid, assisted by live others, committed the murder, Chalik agreeing that a political assassination would help tho independence movement, Chaffk, however, now declares that murder was only decided upon in principle ut his house. He says that ho hus always feared crime would endanger Egypt. In view of theso confessions, tho trial should begin tho middlo of May and should last only a few days. Thus far, 150 persons havo been arrested on suspicion, and* four of tho actual revolvers used havo been found.—A. and N.Z. cable.
