Auckland Steeplechase Meeting.

(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND. June 2. The Auckland Racing Club's Great Northern meeting was commenced today. The weather was fine and the attendance good. In the Great Northern Hurdles Hydrant fell at the first fence, bringing down Defender, and Exmoor, going to the front, was never afterwards headed, thus winning by four lengths. The sum of £12,959 10s was. passed through the tote. Results :— Great Northern Hurdles. —Exmoor 1, Romany King 2, Cuiragno 8. Scratched —Sol, Aka Aka, Convoy, Florio, Weary Bill, Medaliius, Ability, Lady Hune, King Paul, Baritone, Oryx, Catherine Gordon, Exmoor assumed command after jumping the first hurdle and was never afterwards headed, winning easily by four lengths, Cuiragno a neck away third. Time, 4miu 34sec. Divs., £4 2s and JEI 7s. Maideu Hurdles.—Ability 1, Liberator 2, Corporal 3. Scratched Le lienu, Convoy. Time, Sciiii 30sec. Diva., £1 14s and £2 4s.
