At the Grey month rases the racehorses Lacy and First View were submitted to auction. Mr Gv Murfitt purchased Lacy for J620, and First View was passed in, tho best offer being £40. The Greymouth Jockey Club lost £100 on the recent Autumn Meeting. From the modified success attending late meetings on the Coast it would appear, 1 says the West Coast Times, that there are more race days during the year than are warranted by public patronage. Liquor will be permitted at the Dunedin J.C. meeting only between the hours of noon and 3 p.m. Several of the jockeys at the recent Riverton meeting were the worse for liquor and the Dunedin J.C. is asking for explanations.
