Seddon and party were farewell cd by the DeputyGovernor, Ministry and members of 1 arliament. lie has been invited to visit lasmania and will do so if the steamers suit. . In dealing with the news pubLshed in the press about Australia and vice versa Mr Seddon stated the N.Z. Government paid a considerable sum each year towards the upkeep of the New Zealand Press Association and more news should be disseminated. In order that the more important New Zealand news should reach Australia the Government had decided to send bi-weekly messages to Australia and which it had arranged would be sent to all the Australian papers. An impartial person would be selected to news and it would be for the proprietors of papers to say whether they would publish it or not.
