The High Commissioner's Cable.
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This day. The Industries and Commerce Department has received the following cable from the High Commissioner, dated London, 24th -The wool sales have closed. The advance has been partially lost. Medium and coarse crossbreds in all grades are "slightly easier. Altogether 9.0,000 ba-es' of New Zealand wool were sold at auction, European competition being very keen. The Americans exercised great caution. Trade is good and manufacturers are very busy. It is fully anticipated the present pr.'ces will be maintained. The estimated values of wool are as follows : — Fine crossbreds, all grades, Is 3d to Is sd, medium Is OM to Is 2hd, coarse IIA-d to Is 2d, supeiior merino-Is 2Jd to Is sd, medium merino Is OrVd to Is 2id, inferior merino 10|d to Is.
