Wreck of a Barque

o (By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) (Per Press Association ) S TONEY, May 24. Manly has just reported that an unknown vessel, supposed to be a threemasted French barque is on the rocks a mile from Manty, making signals of distress. The weather is dirty and high seas are running. A tug has gone to her assistance. Received May 25, at 9.51 a.m. SYDNEY, This Day. The vessel ashore at Manley is the French barque Yincennes,.from Yokohama, in ballast for orders. She arrived off the heads yesterday afternoon and signalled for a pilot. A gale was raging and the weather was too tliick for the signals to be seen at the pilot station. She gradually drifted ashore on Ocean beach and lies broadside on, on an even keel embedded in the sand. Shortly after she struck four of the crew managed to reach shore in a boat. They weie greatly exhausted. The pilot steamer went to the scene but the sea was too rough to rejider assistance and the steamer stood by till morning. At low water it was almost possible to walk aboard. There are onty about four feet' of water where the barque lies. There are good prospects of salving her if the weather holds good. The balance of the crew remain aboard.
