The Management Committee of the Manawatu Rugby Union met last night. There were present:—Messrs Manning (in the chair), Manson, Robinson, Freeman, Davis, Payne, and the secretary. Permission was granted to ihe Old Boys' 111. team to travel to Wanganui on June 4th, provided that they are in charge of a responsible manager. An application for the transfer of two players from the Institute to the Old Boys' Club was granted, subject to the men in question making themselves " financial" with the first-named club. The Union decided that in all further cases of a similar nature to insist on this condition being carried out. A complaint was lodged against a spectator in the Feilding 111. v. High School 111. match at Eeilding last Saturday. It was alleged that he questioned the decision of the referee, and also that he made use of insulting language to him. It was decided, after hearing the referee's report, to disqualify the man from entering any of the Union's grounds for the period ot six months. Mr Gus Torstonsen tendered his resignation as a member of the Management Committee owing to his having decided to play for the Palmerston Club again. The resignation was accepted. The vacancy will be filled at the meeting next week. It was decided to inform the Foxton Executive that unless the request regarding finances is at once complied with stringent measures will be taken to deal with the matter. It was reported that the A. and P. Association had granted the use of the showgrounds for Monday, June 4th. The Referees' Association also met last night, Mr Warden being m the chair. It was decided not to subscribe to the New Zealand Referees' Association for the badge of honor for the use of referees m inter-union and similar matches. Mr Warden was appointed vicepresident to the N.Z. Referees' Association. It was resolved to hold a conference of local referees on Wednesday, May 30th, at the Y.M.CA. rooms, at 7.80 p.m., and that captains of all local teams should also be inyited to be present. The fact that all spectators muet be kept off the field of play is to be impressed on all referees. Also that matches are to be started at the appointed time. It was decided that referees appointed for matches who may find they are unable to fulfil the appointment must notify the secretary as soon as possible. Following are the grounds and referees for next Saturday's matches : — SENIOR. BLia Toa v. Institute, No. 1 ground, Mr Duthie. Feilding v. Old Boys, at Feilding, Mr Manning. JUNIOR. Palmerston v. Feilding, No. 2 ground, Rev. Harper. Kia Toa v. Old Boys, Sportsground, Mr Mundy.' THIRD' CLASS. Palmerston.v. ELia Toa, Sportsground, Mr Elliot, Old Boys v. Feilding, at Feilding, Mr Davis.
